Editor's Note: Getting your truck into Ridin' Around is a snap-of the camera, that is. All it takes is a couple of good-quality photos of your ride that are in focus and well lit. Due to the volume of mail we receive, we regret that we cannot return photographs. Please shoot and send photos of your truck only (no people, pets, Polaroids, or printouts) to: Mini Truckin' magazine, Ridin' Around, 2400 E. Katella Ave., 7th Floor, Anaheim, CA 92806. It is important that you include a detailed description of the modifications you have made to your truck, including any interesting stories behind it. This can include information about the buildup or any special history the truck has.
Congratulations to Brent ('95 S-10), winner of the first Ridin' Around Banner Contest!!
Dreams Really Do Come True
Mike Kash, from Kingman, Arizona, always dreamed of having his '83 Ford Ranger grace the pages of Mini Truckin'. Mike has owned his truck since he was 14 years old, and has put a lot of time and money into getting his truck to where it is now. With his 17-inch Enkei six spoke rims, snow-white paint, and a 'bagged rear suspension, he is the envy of all his friends. His future plans consist of 'bags up front, a body-drop, new paint, and an updated '92 Ford Ranger front clip.
Face Time
Brent has a '95 S-10 with an '03 front end. With all of the time and effort that Brent has put into his dimepiece, who wouldn't want a little recognition? The mods include, but are not limited to: a 4.3 V-6, heads ported out, with Edelbrock headers, a Flowmaster exhaust, and Eagle Wheels wrapped in 245/45ZR17 rubber. The suspension is all DJM by using, 3-inch drop spindles with 2-inch drop springs, 4-inch blocks with 2-inch leaf drop in the rear, all of which totals the slammed 5/6 drop. The paint is a custom concoction, with the original red mixed in with a few other colors from around the shop. Interior upgrades include: a Pioneer Head Unit, JL 8-inch subs, MA Audio four-channel amp, and Pioneer separates. Brent hopes to drop in a 327 in the near future-and if that doesn't work out-he's going to add a turbo for a little extra kick.
Good Vue
When you want to be different, you can go all out on a normal minitruck that people see everyday, or you can get a ride not many people fix up and keep it simple. Kyle Wheatley owns this '06 Saturn VUE with a set of 4/5-inch drop coils, and a set of 20-inch OCG Racing M712s. A Panasonic 6.5-inch double-din touch screen DVD/CD player, with an Audiobahn 1500-watt amp, and a MTX 15-inch subwoofer let folks know he's coming down the road. Kyle's future plans are to darken the windows, tint the taillights, add some more interior mods, and maybe 'bag her to be closer to the earth.
One of Many Projects
After being a Mini Truckin' reader and having numerous minitrucks for years, Scott Brown, from Spa, New York, figured it was about time he sent in one of his minitrucks to make the pages of his favorite magazine. Scott's '88 S-10 has 18-inch Bonspeed wheels, a fiberglass bed with Vette taillights, a color-matched painted interior, and so much more. Being a major old-body Chevy fan, Scott also has a '91 Extra Cab, and an '89 Blazer that are in the works, too. We look forward to seeing many more projects from Scott in the future.
