By far, one of the hardest trucks to install shocks on once it has been 'bagged is the S-10. Fabricators have tried placing shocks in all kinds of areas in front of and behind the hub assembly. They've found there's just no such thing as an easy way to get shocks to work once an airbag has taken residence between the upper and lower control arms - the area once home to the stock coil spring and front shock.
Hundreds of 'bagged-S-10 owners have ground down perfectly good shocks and inner lips of wheels due to relocated shocks that just couldn't get the job done. We even tried this method of shock mounting a few years ago. It eventually failed because we didn't set up the lower shock tabs to allow no binding points whether the truck was slammed or skied.
We recently had a call from Art Gomez at GO EZ Customs. He just happened to be 'bagging a second-generation S-10 in his shop and was also planning on relocating the front shocks and shock mounts.
